While some women get their periods every 28 days, some have cycles that aren’t so predictable. A normal menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, up-down 7 days. A period is considered irregular if it occurs more frequently than every 21 days or lasts longer than 8 days. Missed, early, or late periods are also signs of an irregular cycle.
