Our choices from where we got our calories changed.

Liquid calories, hyperpalatable ones, and literally the fact that w can get a taste of everything at a buffet table in a given meal itself actually leads to eating more calories in general.

The trick to eating less calories, or maybe better understood as:

Eating closer to the amounts you were meant to.

Is to get back to the basics and the roots of nutrition. And roots is actually a good word here.

Because you’ll do best if most of the foods you consume was once rooted in the ground, or fed off of it.

And just drink more water or zero calorie liquids.

That’s how you keep your body feeling full on less calories — because calories don’t dictate fullness but the size of the food/drink does.

That means a can of Coke is just as filling as a can of LaCroix.

It means a handful of nuts and double the calories is as filling as a chicken breast.

The chicken breast is probably even more filling given its higher proportion of protein content.

So, more natural food choices, more water, smaller servings, and you’re well on your way to more reasonable levels of calorie consumption if you’re having trouble getting that in order.
