There have been people who “go Vegan” and then their health falls apart, which causes them to say “the diet does not work!”

The most common reason for this problem is that the person was not eating something similar to the left side of this photo aka a whole food, plant-based dietary plan. Instead, many new vegans eat heavily processed and chemical-rich foods that the body considers to be foreign agents/toxins.

We did not evolve eating the foods on the right of this photo, but rather those on the left!

Another issue is not consuming enough calories in order to fuel day-to-day metabolism! Many people who remove all animal products from the diet do not adequately replace those calories using calorie-dense plant foods, such as avocados, walnuts, pistachios, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, chia seeds, flaxseed, hemp seeds, quinoa, beans, lentils, split peas, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, rice, millet, organic oats, and organic peanuts, to name a few.

Always look for how fiber-rich and micronutrient-rich (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants) the foods are that you consistently eat on a daily basis.
