Are you using this approach?
It’s a very simple way to set up your diet and is something I personally use. Aim for at least 80% of your calories coming from whole foods and minimally processed foods. So what does that mean?
Firstly foods like
Legumes
Whole grain
Nuts
Seeds
Fruit
Veg
Herbs & Spices
Plus minimally processed foods like red lentil pasta, nut butter made from 100% nuts, tempeh, tofu, bean burgers etc.
While 20% of your calories or less can come from more processed foods like meat alternatives, chocolate, vegan cheese etc.
So what are the benefits of this? The majority of your diet will come from nutrient-dense foods with more fiber, vitamins, minerals etc, but still, have a place for some other foods that you enjoy.
Obviously just are just guidelines and some foods can be on either side depending on how it’s made, so you’ll have to use your best judgment on certain foods.
Hope this helps!
