If you thought that stroke comes overnight, it’s time to think again. Sufferers experience numerous warning symptoms, but most of them fail to understand their body.

Stroke is a condition in which the blood stops flowing in the brain, and cells die off.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that only old people can suffer a stroke. Latest reports suggest that over 35 percent of all sufferers are under 65.

Hypertension, high cholesterol levels and smoking are some of the contributing factors.

5 signs of stroke

Weak arms
Most sufferers notice weakness or numbness in one side of their body. Try to elevate your arms above the head, and see if they both go up. If there is a stroke coming your way, one of your arms will drop.

Severe headache
Sudden headache is a clear sign of stroke. It is pretty similar to migraine, but most people can’t make a difference. Look for anything strange, and ask for help.

Confusion
According to the Stroke Association, unexpected confusion is a common sign of stroke. The sufferer is unable to understand people and shows reduced mental ability.

Difficulty speaking
Stroke sufferers are usually unable to speak clearly and slur words. Ask them to repeat their words, and observe their condition. If you notice any of the signs in yourself, repeat what you’ve just said, and determine whether your words are slurred.

Imbalance
Experts say that some sufferers experience imbalance and coordination issues. Try to touch your nose with your finger, and walk in a straight line. .
