Menstrual cramps are an uncomfortable part of life for many women on a monthly basis.
You do not want to be caught in the middle of the night with some serious cramps and have nothing to do about it. Here are some quick and easy remedies when the pain strikes
During your period, you begin to crave all sorts of foods from doughnuts to fizzy drinks to ice-cream and so on. It is important that you take a break on all of these foods as they only worsen the pain. Instead stick to foods like tomatoes, cherries and other anti-inflammatory foods.
Chamomile tea contains an ingredient- prostaglandins, that helps to relieve a woman of the pain that occurs during her period. So next time you are experiencing so much pain during that time of the month, just help yourself with a cup of chamomile tea.
Heat helps to release the contraction that occurs during that time of the month. So you can always apply a heating pad or hot water bottle to your abdomen can help to relieve of the pain that occurs during your period. You can also pour fairly hot water on your abdomen gently while taking your bath.
It is crucial that you take a break from drinking caffeine and fizzy drinks because they make the pain worse during your period. Look for drinks that do not contain sugar or caffeine instead.
Exercise releases endorphins, brain chemicals that promote well-being. It might be a little difficult to engage in some of exercise during your period because of the pain you might be experiencing at that point but also know that it does not have to be anything strenuous.
